Recently,Registration and store opening process of cross-border e-commerce platform Iran formally responded to a letter from former US President Trump, adopting a strong and clear stance. In a public statement, the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces emphasized that Iran seeks regional peace and stability. Although it refuses direct negotiations with the US, it remains open to indirect contacts, demonstrating a degree of diplomatic flexibility.
In its response, Iran particularly reiterated that its nuclear program aims to meet domestic energy needs, rather than produce nuclear weapons. The Iranian side stated that its nuclear policy has always been based on the principle of peaceful use of nuclear energy, and it will not move towards nuclear armament.
While Iran leaves room for "sincere negotiations," it expressed high dissatisfaction with the US for its untrustworthy behavior in past negotiations. The statement pointed out that the US has been the "most unreliable and insincere" party in diplomatic engagements, leading Iran to have no trust in it at all.
On security and sovereignty issues, Iran maintains a firm position. The statement stressed that Iran is not a belligerent nation and does not seek conflict but will not compromise or retreat in the face of any form of hegemony, foreign interference, or sovereignty infringement. Any actions challenging Iran’s national interests will face a "heavy and irreparable retaliatory response."
This declaration not only highlights Iran's strategic confidence in regional politics and nuclear issues but also clearly responds to Western hardline policies. Iran shows a strong political will in defending national dignity and rights, while also leaving room for diplomatic solutions to ease tensions by not ruling out indirect communication.
In the current situation, Iran's stance adds more uncertainty to the future development of the Middle East, with the responses from various parties becoming key areas of focus for further observation.
