Coastal destinations and places offering water activities have become popular choices, with about one-third of Americans hoping to enjoy activities such as floating yoga during their vacations.
As of Sunday, over 100 million people in the U.S. were affected by heat warnings. Cities along the East Coast are preparing for record-breaking temperatures, while a dangerous heat dome is expanding to the West Coast.
The high temperatures have prompted vacationers to reassess their plans ahead of the July 4th holiday, a peak travel period for Americans.
Data shows that nearly 64% of American travelers reported the rising local temperatures influenced their choice of cooler vacation destinations.
From July 3 to July 7, search volumes for Panama City Beach in Florida increased by 32% compared to the previous year, while Myrtle Beach in South Carolina saw a 30% increase. These are among the popular spots observing this trend.
